The Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How
Hey hey! π
Lola here π
Actually my real name is Leslie Ann Lozada, (get it? LOzada Leslie Ann =LOLA π)I'm 29 years old, a mama of 3 incredible boys , and the hands behind Lola's soap shop.
If your wondering how Lola's came to be ,well , about 7 years ago I happened to stumble upon a small soapmaking/craft supply shop in a small town in Puerto Rico, "La casita de las velas", owned by two of the most incredibe women Ive met.
Here , with their guidance, i bought my first supplies and began dabbling in Melt and pour soap. i quickly became an addiction to say the least. Most nights I was up till 1 or 2 am making soap lol.
But i quickly learned that most of the designs that i wanted to do were not possible with melt and pour and I became bored.
I knew about Cold process soap making but , with a young child in the house , and being uneducated on the matter , I didntΒ feel comfortable working with lye at the moment.( i really wish i did, who knows where i would be today if i had started back then π€)
Fast forward to 2017 ,
And I was pregnant with baby #2 πΆπΌ , living in Florida, and getting ready to leave my job as a fast food manager to become a stay at home mom. But I needed something to do, So I started studying cold process soap making again . first it was just videos on you tube but then it became more.
The designs that were possible and that entrancing moment when you see the oil and water -two things that are opposites and shouldn't mix, turn to soap- it basically bewitched me and I said "f*ck it" and bought a soapmaking kit and supplies from Brambleberry.com- let the adventure begin...
Oh , and what an adventure it has been! cold process soap making is a whole other world, and what a bubbly and colorful world it is!!! it basically my life now (or whats left of it after caring for my boys π¦ π¦ π¦) Lol
Of course i wouldnt be where i am today if it werent for some very talented and incredible people ive met along the way..
The study group "Las jevas del jabon" run by Yahira Tiare of YT.SOAP CO. - Ive learned SO much thanks to this group of incredible creatives .
Bee Iyata from SORCERYSOAPS.COM Who is the mind and master behind soap dough andthe recipe to make it - which is what I use to create those awesome little embellishments I put on my soaps.
Kemolee Santana and Natalie from "La casita de las velas" in San German Puerto Rico- the place that started it all so many years ago
And all those soapy friends I've made along the way and have helped me one way or another - thank you.
Lola's soap shop has evolved SO MUCH and into SO MUCH MORE than I imagined . - thanks to YOU
Every recommendation , share , like , follow, and purchase - no matter how small, Is what has helped Lola become what it is today and be able to continue creating.. so once again THANK YOU .
